San Antonio, TX — The 29th annual Alliance Flooring Convention took place March 28–31 at the JW Marriott Hill Country in San Antonio, Texas. This year’s theme, “Innovate,” was reflected in several new programs and initiatives designed to build on the buying group’s success.

The result was one of the most informative and interactive meetings the group has hosted. “We listened to the members,” said Ryan Dunn, co-president and CEO. “This agenda is completely different than what we have done before. We had one short general session when we normally do two. And then we scheduled the interactive forums, which we haven’t done before. Members asked for this and we made it happen.”

Held on the final day of the convention, the member-led forums covered a wide range of topics, including social media and digital marketing, claims, growth through expansion, the $3 million wall (and how to break through it), A.I. in business, entering commercial work, multifamily specialization and maximizing rebates. “It’s all about the member,” Dunn said. “We will never tell the member what to do, but we are there to help them every step of the way.”

That support includes the Perfect Home retail selling solution and technology platform, launched in 2023. This year, eight new wood programs were added. Currently, hardwood accounts for just 4% of Alliance’s product mix but remains a key focus area. “That number (4%) shocked me,” said Kevin Logue, co-president and CEO. “There is definitely room for growth with hardwood.”

Logue noted that Alliance hosted a wood showcase in Utah last summer but delayed the program’s rollout until this year. “We waited until the end to add hardwood because we really wanted to do our research and package it to the dealers the right way. We put together eight modular programs from eight different suppliers.”

At present, carpet (40%) and resilient (37%) products make up the majority of Alliance Flooring’s portfolio, with both categories showing growth last year. Resilient sales increased 15% year over year, while carpet rose 4.5%. Overall, Alliance Flooring members saw sales grow by 5.68% in 2025, compared to a 7% decline for the industry. “We’re outpacing the industry, we’re outselling the industry,” Logue said. “We’re definitely selling more better goods.”

Perfect Home, which focuses on higher-end products, has played a major role in driving those gains. As Logue explained, “Perfect Home is a selling solution that gives our dealers an advantage. It helps facilitate sales of higher-end products, especially carpet. But it’s also that we have a great group of dealers who grind and hustle and win business.”

That momentum has continued into 2026, with Alliance members reporting low single-digit sales growth despite challenges such as mortgage rates climbing above 6% and uncertainty related to the war in Iran. Inside the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort, however, the atmosphere remained upbeat. “Our members are fired up,” Dunn said.

Logue shared a similar outlook, “We’re bullish and optimistic about 2026. We feel there is a lot of pent-up demand that is going to break free. We must make sure our members are ready when it does break free.”

In 2026, Alliance Flooring is launching a new initiative called Member Experience. Led by Rachel Stanley, vice president, the program focuses on listening to members and ensuring each dealer receives maximum value from the group. At its core, the initiative is about providing the tools members need to succeed.

Members often cite Alliance’s consistent outreach and strong sense of community as key factors in their success. “We’ve been a member since 1999, so it’s obvious we love this group,” said Todd Ramsey, co-owner of 3Kings Flooring in Fort Wayne, Ind. “If you can’t be successful with the tools and knowledge and programs Alliance gives you, then you can’t be successful.”

Rhonda Compton, owner of Rocky Mountain Flooring in Twin Falls, Idaho, and a member since 2015, added: “I love everything about this group. They’re always thinking about the member and what they can do to help. The latest example was Perfect Home, which has been a nice addition to our showroom and helped increase our business.”

During the convention, Alliance Flooring also welcomed 10 new flooring suppliers and three technology companies. Among them is Hallmark Home, which will offer cabinets, luxury vinyl plank and laminate. “They’re a family-owned business that people respect and we’re a family-owned business,” said Mark Casper, vice president of sales and marketing for Hallmark. “You can immediately feel the kinship with their dealers.”

While welcoming new partners, Alliance executives also recognized long-standing relationships, including Karndean, its top hard surface supplier. “They’ve been a tremendous believer in what we are doing in Perfect Home,” Logue said of Karndean. During Monday’s session, Karndean CEO Bill Anderson spoke about the strong bond between his company and Alliance Flooring.

Alliance also welcomed several other new suppliers and brands, including Artistic Finishes, Denali Hardwood Floor, Fabrica Wood, GalleherDuffy (part of Artivo Surfaces), Hallmark Home, Intermountain Wood Products and Revolution Mills.
